Richarlison Nets As Brazil Ease Past Peru

Richarlison scored in injury-time as hosts Brazil made it two wins from two in the Copa America with a convincing 4-0 victory over Peru on Thursday night in Rio de Janeiro.

Brazil manager Tite made six changes to the side that beat Venezuela 3-0 in their opening Group B game on Sunday, with Richarlison named on the bench.

The Everton forward was introduced at half-time and grabbed his 10th goal for the Selecao in the 93rd minute, shooting past Pedro Gallese while lying on the ground after the Peru keeper had saved his first effort.

The defending champions were cruising to victory by that point courtesy of Alex Sandro's 12th-minute opener and goals after the break from Neymar and Everton Ribeiro.

Colombia sit second in the Group B table on four points after their goalless draw with Venezuela in Goiânia.

Everton defender Yerry Mina played the full match for Colombia, who thought they had grabbed a late winner from Miguel Borja, only to see his effort ruled out for offside.

His side were then reduced to 10 men when Luis Diaz was shown a straight red for foul play.

It means Brazil and Colombia remain favourites to make the semi-finals of the competition, and the two nations face each other in Group B on Thursday (1am BST).
