Portuguese outlet Record believes Sporting Lisbon midfielder Matheus Nunes will be Everton's first signing of the summer window.

The publication claims that should Nuno Espirito Santo be named as the Club's new manager, it would finalise the deal for the 22-year-old.

The reported asking price is around £15million for the Brazilian who made 31 appearances last season, scoring three goals and providing two assists.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano claims Paulo Fonseca will be named as Tottenham Hotspur's new coach this week.

The former Roma boss had been one of the rumoured candidates for the vacant job at Goodison Park.

Everton youngster Ellis Simms spoke with the Blackpool Gazette and says his focus is on his fitness, not his future.

The 20-year-old scored 10 goals on loan with the Seasiders but missed the League One play-off final due to injury.

Simms enters the final year of his Everton deal next season but will focus on his rehabilitation and is optimistic for next season.

“The main thing is to get back fit," he told the newspaper.

“It has been a great experience at Blackpool and I have loved playing. I am not sure what will happen next, it is up to Everton.

“Whatever it is, I am happy and just looking forward to next season and continuing to play.

“I am still young and learning. I am not the finished article. There are always things to improve and I need to build on my strengths.

“I can work on my runs behind, my hold-up play and link-up play, and a lot of off-the-ball aspects like defensive positioning.

"You can always get better.”

TalkSPORT and The Telegraph report that Everton are interested in Los Angeles forward Diego Rossi.

The 23-year-old Uruguayan is coming off his best campaign in 2020 when he won the MLS Golden Boot and the Best Young Player in MLS.

The rumoured asking price from LAFC would be in the range of £10million, with Tottenham Hotspur also reportedly interested.
