Vote For Everton Fans' Forum Members Before Sunday's Deadline

Evertonians are being offered the opportunity to elect the fellow Blues they want to see represent them on the club's Fans' Forum.

The five new members - who will come from a list of 10 candidates - will join existing Forum members from June and provide input and give feedback to the Club that will help inform decision-making in areas including Season Ticket pricing, the matchday offering at Goodison Park, retail and communications with supporters.

The new electees will also have the opportunity to join a new stadium project group that will be key in continuing the dialogue with Evertonians in terms of pricing, the seat allocation process, facilities on offer and other factors that are important to supporters as the Club moves forward with its plans to build a new 52,888-capacity waterfront home at Bramley-Moore Dock.

The Fans' Forum is currently playing a leading role in consulting with fan groups and stakeholders to get their views and opinions on the future of football in light of the failed breakaway European Super League and forthcoming strategic review of the game. The information collated by the Forum will help inform and guide the wider consultation and surveys that Everton fans will receive in the coming weeks.

So, who are the 10 contenders to represent the voices of Evertonians during what promises to be an exciting - and important - period for the club?

Scroll down to read a profile of each of the candidates now.

To select the five you would like to see join the Fans' Forum, use the form below and cast your vote before the deadline of 4pm (BST) on Sunday 6 June

Supporters must have an Everton customer number to be eligible to vote and can only vote once. Everton fans were given the opportunity to apply to join the Forum in April, with the tenures of a number of current members due to come to an end this summer.

Meet The 10 Candidates

Andrew Wareing

I have been a Season Ticket holder in GT3 for the past 15 years, attending all away games, and I truly understand what it means to be an Evertonian.

I believe the club has several key years ahead and it has never been more important for us, the fans, to have our voices heard in decisions that will go on to shape the club forever.

I believe that fans working together with the club on all issues, no matter how big or small, can truly continue to shape our club into the club we continue to love. Only the best is good enough – NSNO.

Andy Vernon

I’m aged 57, a match-goer since age five and married with two teenagers (one a Season Ticket holder with me in Upper Gwladys).

I want to be part of the Fans’ Forum as we approach our biggest transition in anyone’s lifetime. Like many, I’ve mixed emotions; gutted to be leaving Goodison but excited at the prospect of our new, magnificent home.

Professionally, I am currently the Deputy Director of Acas NW and I have experience of consulting with representatives of groups, problem-solving and working with a diverse range of groups to reach consensus.

I’d like to make this transition a smooth one for all Blues, regardless of background.

Barry Williams

I am a Season Ticket holder for Everton and don’t miss a game home or away, even venturing to Kenya. I have built strong relationships following Everton and believe I have an in-depth knowledge of fans views.

I aim to improve the atmosphere at home/away games, working within the Forum and existing fan groups to get it to where it needs to be by the time we get to Bramley-Moore. It is important the club is challenged when needed and views from fans are heard, whether that’s domestic or the growing international fan base.

Chris Halsall

For the first 25 years of my life, I regularly made the eight-hour round trip to Goodison. Four years ago, I moved my life to Liverpool to be closer to the Blues, and now it’s just a 10-minute train away. Whether you’re from near or far, I will make your support of Everton the best possible experience because I know the unbelievable impact the club has on each and every one of our lives.

As an environmental professional, I will also look to champion a greener matchday as we transition to our new home at Bramley-Moore Dock.

Jeff Wallner

When Jeff Wallner sought an English football club to support, he took his search quite seriously. The Cincinnati, Ohio-based sports journalist and project manager wanted it to be more meaningful than a kit to wear and team to root for on Saturdays. In the decade since, Everton Football Club has become a significant part of Jeff’s life.

The 55-year-old husband and father is heavily involved with the Cincinnati Toffees and many club initiatives, including Everton USA Live. Now, Jeff is prepared to apply his vast experience in journalism and business, and passion for the Toffees, to the Everton Fans’ Forum.

Rose Seran

I was born in Liverpool and always felt a strong connection to the club.

As a 25-year-old, I haven’t seen Everton at our peak. I am desperate to see Everton improve. The attempt by ‘ESL’ clubs to breakaway from the Premier League has reminded me why I love Everton: our club has always been in touch with its history, community and fans.  I have lots of ideas for how Everton could continue to engage with us, such as fan-made concept kit designs.

UTT!

Siobhan Doran

I’ve been going to Goodison since I was eight, and I’m a Season Ticket holder in Lower Gwladys. My day job is all about improving customer experiences and I want to bring these skills to the club I love, by listening to fans and making their views count towards real change and impact. As a board member of a women’s charity, I’m also passionate about equality and diversity.

Everton, aren’t we? And for our fans - NSNO.

Stan Afflick

Born Blue, I've attended matches since I was four. I am a loyal Evertonian who wants to make a difference for all supporters and our club.  I’ve worked for many years supporting vulnerable children and families, where it’s said I am hardworking, committed, creative, knowledgeable and skilled. I promise all of this and more to the Fans' Forum.

Going into a period of major change, we need to stick together to preserve our history, culture and values, to ensure our future. With a strong, well-informed fan voice, we can make sure that everything we love about Everton is continually improved and protected.

Steven Thomas

If this season has taught us anything, it is that football is nothing without fans. With lockdown denying us the chance to attend games at Goodison and the so-called 'Big Six' showing disregard to the history and tradition of the game by trying to break away, I think now it is more important than ever for fans’ voices to be heard.

That is why I applied to be part of the Forum, to represent our fan base in what should be an exciting new era for the club with plans for a new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock being approved.

Phil Spencer

Empty stadiums during the pandemic highlighted the central role fans play in football, even more so recently when supporters were taken for granted by the so-called 'Super Six'. It is vital fans have a voice about the future of their football club.

As Everton build a new stadium, many important decisions will need to be made on topics that will affect supporters and the future of our football club, such as ticket prices, communication and retail. This is why fans must continue to have a meaningful input.

If elected to the Fans' Forum, I promise to represent Everton supporters with integrity and transparency.
