Everton Part Of Elite Line-Up for 2021 Florida Cup

Everton are set to travel to the USA this summer to battle Premier League rivals Arsenal, Italian champions Inter Milan and Colombian giants Millonarios for the 2021 Florida Cup.

The tournament, to be held at Orlando’s 65,000-capacity Camping World Stadium, will take place between 25-28 July.

The Blues will take on Millonarios on Sunday 25 July, with Arsenal facing Serie A holders Inter on the same day.

The two winners will then vie for the Florida Cup trophy on finals day, Wednesday 28 July, with the two remaining clubs facing off in a third-place play-off.

Everton is continuing to work closely with Florida Cup organisers and US authorities to ensure the Club's participation in the tournament is safe and that an appropriate bubble is in place for the travelling party.

The Club will also follow the Premier League's COVID protocols and the UK government's international travel guidelines for elite-sport.

During Everton's stay in Orlando, the team will have access to world-class training facilities and will maintain the highest standard of COVID-secure protocols, in keeping with the processes followed throughout the 2020/21 Premier League season.

The tournament will also pit the Blues against high calibre opposition, providing two stern tests as they prepare for their Premier League opener on the weekend of 14-15 August.

As well as participating in the Florida Cup, a series of exciting engagement events with US-based fans and Supporters' Clubs are planned for the July visit – the Blues’ first to the country for pre-season since participating in the International Champions Cup in 2013. More information on these supporter events will be communicated in the coming weeks.

UK-based fans are advised not to book travel or accommodation until leisure travel to the United States is permitted.

Official Club travel packages from the UK to the USA will be subject to government travel restrictions and, as such, are not currently available. Should the option for leisure travel become available, more information on official Club travel packages will be communicated.

Information about television broadcasting and how to stream the games – including via – will be confirmed in due course.

Millonarios, based in Bogota, are one of Colombia’s most successful clubs and 15-times winners of the country’s top division, Categoría Primera A. In 2018, they defeated Atlético Nacional 2-1 on aggregate to win the Superliga Colombiana title, the club’s most recent major honour.

The meeting with Millonarios will allow Everton to further strengthen their ties with the South American country, developed since the signings of star Colombia internationals Yerry Mina and James Rodriguez in 2018 and 2020 respectively.

Inter, whose leading lights include Everton's record Premier League goalscorer Romelu Lukaku, scooped their first Serie A title since 2010 last season, while Arsenal are familiar foes.

This season’s Florida Cup will be the seventh since its inception in 2015, with Ajax, PSV Eindhoven, Sao Paulo, Palmeiras and River Plate among the clubs to have previously taken part.

The tournament follows Everton's announcement in April that it was to focus on strengthening relationships with its growing fanbase and partners in North America as part of its international strategy.

The Club has delivered a series of activations and digital engagements in North and South America, Australasia, the Far East and the Middle East over the past two years – with expansion continuing despite the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
