He hit 21 goals for Everton in all competitions, with 16 of his strikes coming in the Premier League.

Calvert-Lewin has already picked up two prestigious individual accolades this term, having won Everton Player of the Season and Players’ Player of the Season awards.

The 24-year-old won his maiden England cap last September, scoring on his debut in a 3-0 win over Wales.

He has gone on to score four goals in seven senior England appearances and has been named in the Three Lions’ 26-player squad for this summer’s European Championship.

Calvert-Lewin will be battling with five fellow members of Southgate’s squad for the Premier League prize, with Phil Foden, Mason Mount, Marcus Rashford, Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka also among the nominees.

Manchester City defender Ruben Dias and Leeds United goalkeeper Illan Meslier complete the shortlist.
