Carlo Ancelotti confirmed Yerry Mina is set to miss the next few weeks with an adductor muscle injury – but the Everton boss is confident his injury list will ease with the return of Jordan Pickford, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Allan, Andre Gomes and Joshua King for Friday’s clash with Spurs at Goodison.

Mina was forced off on 58 minutes during the Blues’ goalless draw at Brighton & Hove Albion on Monday night to add to a squad also without Abdoulaye Doucoure (foot), Fabian Delph (tendon), Bernard and Jean-Philippe Gbamin after the Ivorian midfielder sustained a knee injury in training at the weekend just days after making his long-awaited return from two separate setbacks.

Mina is now set for a spell on the sidelines but Ancelotti says Pickford will be fit again when Jose Mourinho’s side visit Goodison in four days’ time after recovering from an abdominal injury, while Calvert-Lewin – who travelled to Brighton but missed out due to an abductor muscle niggle – Allan, Gomes and King are also likely to be available.

Ancelotti said: “Yerry Mina had a muscle problem on his adductor and I don't think he will be available for a few weeks. The others, I hope to recover. For sure, Pickford will be available, I hope Allan and Gomes will be available, Calvert-Lewin and Joshua King."

Ancelotti revealed Gbamin suffered his knee injury during an accidental clash with Lucas Digne in training at USM Finch Farm and will be out for the rest of the season.

The 25-year-old midfielder will have a scan in London tomorrow to confirm the extent of his injury.

“Listen, we are really, really sad [about JP Gbamin's knee injury] because he was training well, showing good quality and was happy,” said Ancelotti. “He's going to have a scan. I don't know how long but for sure the season for him is finished but he's a really strong guy and I hope he can recover soon and play.

"Digne fell down on his knee unfortunately and I think he has a medial ligament problem."

The point at Brighton keeps Everton in eighth spot in the Premier League table. Despite a game of few opportunities where his side’s best chance fell to Alex Iwobi in injury-time when the forward fired over from the edge of the box, Ancelotti feels the Blues still have plenty to play for.

He added: “It is not a good moment and the injured players means we have difficulties in this moment. We have to be able to move on, to move forward. There are important games still. We are still in the fight, it is more difficult, but we will not give up because it is a strange season with unpredictable results.

“We move on and be confident. I think we can say something again in this fight.

“We have to play against Tottenham, Arsenal, we have two games against Villa, we have to play against West Ham… All the games are really important and vital if we want to reach Europe.”
