Everton representative NFG Jayden just missed out on a place in the Xbox edition of the ePremier League quarter-finals after a narrow defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.
All the ties were played over two legs and – after the first elimination playoff game against Spurs ended in a 1-1 draw – Everton were edged out 2-1 in the return fixture.
NFC Jayden had in fact got Everton’s campaign off to a flying start with a 9-3 aggregate victory over Tottenham in the opening round.
After that thumping win, the Blues progressed to take on Chelsea. The first leg in that tie finished 1-1 but Everton were beaten 3-2 in the second game.
That result put Everton into the elimination playoff with Tottenham, where the Toffees fell to a 3-2 aggregate defeat following two keenly-contested encounters.
The PlayStation 4 edition of the competition will get under way on Wednesday, with the Blues set to be represented by Harry Hesketh.
