Everton Boss Gives Team News Update

Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed Dominic Calvert-Lewin will miss Everton’s game against Manchester City on Wednesday night (8.15pm GMT) with a hamstring problem – but Jordan Pickford and Allan are in contention to make their First-Team returns.

Ancelotti added he is hopeful Everton top goalscorer Calvert-Lewin will be fit to play in Saturday’s Merseyside derby at Anfield.

Goalkeeper Pickford, who has missed the Blues’ past three Premier League matches with an abdominal injury, trained on Monday. Ancelotti says he will start against City at Goodison Park provided he comes through Tuesday’s training session unscathed.

Allan, meanwhile, is in line to make his first appearance since sustaining a hamstring injury in the Blues’ 2-0 win at Leicester City on 16 December.

Jean-Philippe Gbamin remains out for the Blues as he continues his rehabilitation from an Achilles injury.

“Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Jean-Philippe Gbamin will not be available, for sure,” said Ancelotti, who was speaking at his pre-match press conference at USM Finch Farm.

“For Dominic, I think it is a matter of days [before he is fit again].

"We hope he will be available on Saturday.

“The others are all okay.

"Pickford trained yesterday [Monday] and he was okay. We will check again today and if he is available, he is going to play.

“Allan is in contention. He is fit. He is good.”
