Everton Boss Provides Team News Update

Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti has revealed the Blues have no fresh injury worries ahead of Saturday’s Premier League clash with Newcastle United at Goodison Park (12.30pm GMT).

Midfield trio Allan, Fabian Delph and Jean-Philippe Gbamin remain unavailable – but Ancelotti added Delph is back in training and he is hopeful Allan and Gbamin will join in sessions with the team at USM Finch Farm next week.

Allan and Delph have been out with hamstring problems, while Gbamin has been a long-term absentee with an Achilles injury.

Abdoulaye Doucoure returns for Everton after missing Wednesday’s 1-1 draw with Leicester City through suspension.

Everton head into the Newcastle game having taken 16 points from the past 21 available in the Premier league. Victory on Saturday would lift the Blues up to fifth in the Premier League table.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Ancelotti said: “Allan and Delph are not available for selection.

“We are also without Gbamin.

“The others are all okay, there were no problems after the game against Leicester.

“Delph has started to train with the team this week.

“I think Allan will start to train next week and also Gbamin – we hope he can train with us next week.”
