Last Chance To Sign Up For Fan Friday Event With Everton Legend Steven

Everton legend Trevor Steven is this week’s special guest on our Blue Family Fan Friday show.

The former wideman, who won two league titles, a European Cup Winners' Cup and the FA Cup after joining the Blues from Burnley in 1983, will join regular host Darren Griffiths at 6pm on Friday 22 January to speak about his glittering career, the characters he played with and against, and how he fills his time these days.

The event is available for a limited number of supporters – fill out the form below before 2pm on Friday to be in with a chance of joining in!

Last week, Neville Southall joined his 1987 title-winning teammate Ian Snodin for a thoroughly entertaining conversation.

Big Nev told us he had given himself to the age of 20 to make it as a professional footballer and that his spell as a hod-carrier stood him in good stead for when he went full-time with Bury.

The pair reminisced about the Bellefield days and Neville revealed he would have asked Colin Harvey to be his number two if he had got the Wales international manager’s job.

Snods spoke about his upbringing under the legendary Billy Bremner at Doncaster Rovers and he speculated over what his Yorkshire miner father would have said if he’d have asked for a pair of pink or green football boots!

Neville, the man who played 751 games for Everton, was typically forthright when the topic of television football pundits cropped up.

“Before the game they tell you what they think will happen, at half-time they tell what should have happened and at the end of the game they tell you what did happen!” he quipped.

Blue Family was launched in March 2020 to provide vital assistance to some of the most vulnerable and socially isolated members of the community during the coronavirus pandemic.

The campaign has supported more than 27,000 vulnerable and at-risk families, made almost 25,000 check-in and welfare calls, delivered in excess of 14,000 emergency food parcels and provided more than 250,000 meals for school children, participants and local residents.

The expansion of activity will include increased outbound calls to fans and additional support to deal with an increase in referrals for people in need.

The Club will also offer bespoke online content for supporters across the world. The Blue Family section of the official Everton website is home to a wealth of online content to support home learning, fan wellbeing and remote supporter interaction.
