Spanish newspaper Marca features Blues defender Yerry Mina, who has revealed how he grown closer to Colombian compatriot and “great human being” James Rodriguez since the playmaker’s move to Everton from Real Madrid.

“I knew him [before he joined Everton], but not as well as I do now,” said Mina.

“I know the person he is, and he is a great human being. As a professional, he is top, and always wants to do things right.

"I used to talk to him about the bad times, and he would tell me ‘don’t worry, this is going to change. You are a good person, a winner’… And that is how it was.”

MSN reports Everton are interested in signing Real Sociedad centre-back Modibo Sagnan.

The 21-year-old has made his First-Team breakthrough with the high-flying La Liga side this season. He has made 13 appearances in 2020/21 so far.

MSN claims Everton have been monitoring Sagnan’s progress “for some time” and are now preparing a bid for him.

And the Liverpool Echo carries quotes from Everton Under-23s assistant manager and Director of Academy Coaching John Ebbrell, who has revealed young Blues striker Ellis Simms could be set for a loan switch during the January transfer window.

Simms, 20, has hit nine goals in 12 Premier League 2 appearances this season.

Ebbrell said: “I would imagine there's a good chance Ellis will leave in January to get some experience.”
