Everton Boss Delivers Team News Update

Carlo Ancelotti has revealed Everton attacker James Rodriguez and captain Seamus Coleman will not be available for Wednesday’s clash at Leicester City (6pm GMT).

James missed Saturday's 1-0 victory over Chelsea with a calf injury and Ancelotti says he will continue to be assessed “day by day” ahead of Saturday’s Premier League match against Arsenal at Goodison Park.

The Italian added Coleman is nearing a return to full fitness but he did not want to risk him in Wednesday’s match.

The Everton boss says he expects the right-back to be fit to face Arsenal on Saturday.

Fabian Delph will miss the Leicester game with a hamstring injury and Lucas Digne remains out with an ankle ligament problem.

Jean-Philippe Gbamin is continuing his rehabilitation from an Achilles injury.

"The squad is practically the same as we had for the Chelsea match," said Ancelotti, who was speaking at his pre-match press conference.

“I don’t want to take a risk on Seamus Coleman.

“He is quite ready and fit but we prefer to leave him out for the Leicester match so he can be ready for the next game on Saturday.

“Fabian Delph is out and James is out.

“James is starting his individual rehab. Day by day, we will continue to check him.

"I don’t know if he will be ready for the weekend.

“Maybe he will not be available on Saturday but could be next Wednesday [Everton's Carabao Cup tie against Manchester United]."
