What The Papers Say - 24 November

Tuesday’s Liverpool Echo reports Everton “will be ready” for the return of supporters to Goodison Park if the Club receives approval from Government.

Plans announced yesterday confirmed a maximum of 4,000 fans will be allowed at outdoor events in the lowest-risk areas (Tier 1) when the national lockdown in England ends on 2 December. Up to 2,000 spectators will be allowed in Tier 2 areas but none in Tier 3.

The Echo claims the Liverpool City Region could be placed into Tier 2 and Everton has a "fair and equitable" ticket ballot planned should fans be allowed to return.

Staying with the local read, and former Everton defender Michael Ball pays tribute to Alex Iwobi’s performance in Sunday’s 3-2 win over Fulham.

Writing in his regular column for the paper, Ball explained how the Blues can exploit the increased attention opposition sides pay to “key players” James Rodriguez and Richarlison.

“While they [the opposing team] are trying to prevent those players from having an impact it gives other members of the Blues side to step up to the plate, just like Alex Iwobi did at the weekend.”

The Daily Star, meanwhile, continues to link Everton with a January move for Manchester United winger Daniel James.

The Star features quotes from former England full-back Danny Mills, who states Wales international James could benefit from “a fresh start” at Everton.
