Academy Striker Wins Everton's October Goal Of The Month Prize

A sensational long-range volley by Everton Academy striker Tom Cannon has been voted the Club's Davanti Tyres October Goal of the Month by fans.

Cannon, who appears regularly for Everton Under-18s and made his Premier League 2 debut for the Blues' Under-23s side earlier this season, found the top corner with a thunderous first-time effort in an Under-17 Premier League Cup game against Burnley at USM Finch Farm.

Watching a cross from the Everton right all the way on to his foot, Cannon exquisitely put the seal on a 3-1 win over the Clarets.

Cannon's poll-topping effort saw off rival goals from September Goal of the Month victor Dominic Calvert-Lewin (against both Brighton and Liverpool), Colombia international James Rodriguez (Brighton) and Everton Women stars Lucy Graham (West Ham United) and Claire Emslie (Aston Villa).

The youngster was presented with his award at Everton's training base by Under-18s boss Paul Tait (above).

Well done, Tom!
