Everton Women Appoint New Goalkeeping Coach

Everton Women have appointed Ian McCaldon as the Club’s new goalkeeping coach.

McCaldon joins the Blues from NAWSL side Washington Spirit and brings a wealth of top-level coaching experience to Everton.

He held the position of goalkeeping and team performance technical staff coach with the Spirit for two seasons, having previously spent five years with the Scottish Women’s national team as goalkeeper coach.

He reunites with Everton boss Willie Kirk, having worked alongside him for four years at Hibernian Women.

McCaldon’s additional experience includes two years as head of goalkeeping coaching at the National Performance Centre for Female Footballers at Herriot-Watt University, Edinburgh.

In his new role at Everton Women, McCaldon will work with First-Team stoppers Sandy MacIver and Tinja-Riikka Korpela as well as the Blues’ emerging goalkeeping talents.

Born in Liverpool, McCaldon enjoyed a five-year spell with Scottish side Livingston during his playing career and also turned out for Oxford United, Chester City and Ross County.
