Wednesday's Liverpool Echo says Everton will be "sweating on the fitness" of forward Richarlison after he was substituted during Brazil's 2-0 win over Uruguay.

The Blues striker scored his country's second on the night but was taken off shortly after being hurt in a challenge that saw Manchester United's Edison Cavani shown a straight red card.

Cavani attempted to make a challenge as Richarlison powered away with the ball but instead caught the 23-year-old on the shins with his studs.

Richarlison, who is due to return for Everton after a three-match suspension, will be now be hoping he is available to feature in Sunday's Premier League game at Fulham.

The Echo also notes James Rodriguez being on the scoresheet for Colombia overnight.

The playmaker netted a first-half penalty but a torrid evening for the Colombians saw them go down to a 6-1 defeat against Ecuador in Quito.

In the same paper, John Ebbrell details his expanded new role with the Club and explains the influence manager Carlo Ancelotti and Director of Football Marcel Brands have on Everton's Academy pathway.

"We are looking for everything on the pitch to be done quicker, for the ball to move faster and for us to press with more intensity," said Head of Academy Coaching Ebbrell in an interview that first appeared on evertonfc.com.

"We want to improve technical speed and accuracy. To play in key areas at the highest level, you must have magnificent skills and be able to perform them quickly.

"It is right we take that into the Academy and make sure we are seeing those qualities at all ages. We want to align all age groups in what we do.

"My main task is to make sure there is consistency, certainly from Under-12 to Under-23, which feeds into what the First Team needs."

Speaking to Hungarian outlet Digisport, cited in the Daily Mirror, the agent of reported Everton target Dominik Szoboszlai has admitted the Red Bull Salzburg midfielder is "closer" to leaving the Austrian side.

The 20-year-old, who hit a late goal to defeat Iceland and secure Hungary's place at Euro 2020 last week, has previously been linked with a move to Goodison Park.

A number of clubs, including Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, are reported to be monitoring Szoboszlai however, with the youngster thought to have a £23m release clause in his Salzburg contract.
