Dominic Calvert-Lewin features in Wednesday's Liverpool Echo applauding the man management skills of Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti and explaining how he is "like a sponge" soaking up advice from the Italian.
Calvert-Lewin scored the opening goal of Ancelotti's Blues reign against Burnley on Boxing Day last year - the first of 19 the striker has registered since his manager's appointment.
“Carlo’s top. He’s very much a people person," said Calvert-Lewin, who will hope to add to his three England caps against Republic of Ireland on Thursday. "He came with a reputation of being a good man-manager and to work with him in the flesh, I could see that straight away.
“He has an aura about him – a friendly aura, he makes you feel comfortable. He lets you enjoy what you do.
“He wants me to improve. He’s on at me every day – every day – to keep getting in the box, hitting it first time, scoring goals. I’m just like a sponge taking it all in.”
Everton Under-23s boss David Unsworth is also quoted in the Echo, praising the display of teenager Jarrad Branthwaite in the young Blues' 2-0 win over Chelsea at Southport's Pure Stadium on Sunday.
Branthwaite returned from injury to turn in a composed performance against the reigning Premier League 2 champions and Unsworth hailed the defender's "astronomical" progress since arriving from Carlisle United in January.
Unsworth said: "He looks great on the ball. He defends properly, he's a presence and he certainly looked like a young First Team player stepping down."
Finally, Sport Witness points to quotes from Paris Saint-Germain Sporting Director Leonardo, who has reportedly revealed there is no purchase agreement in Everton striker Moise Kean's season-long loan deal with the French club.
Italy international Kean has hit five goals in seven games since joining the French champions last month.
