Ellis Simms and Tyler Onyango were on target as Everton Under-23s recorded a morale-boosting victory over reigning Premier League 2 champions Chelsea at Southport's Pure Stadium on Sunday.

In Joao Virginia, Niels Nkounkou, Anthony Gordon and the fit-again Jarrad Branthwaite, David Unsworth was able to include four players who have seen First-Team action this season in a strong starting line-up.

And the experience told as the young Blues struck twice after the break to halt a run of three games without a victory.
