Wednesday's Continental Cup game between Everton and Manchester United at Walton Hall Park has been called off due to safety concerns on site arising from damage caused by high winds.

The Group C contest was due to kick off at 7pm.

Both clubs are now waiting for The FA to be in contact regarding the future of the game but Everton expects the fixture to be rearranged and details will be announced on evertonfc.com as soon as they are available.

Everton’s next fixture will now be Sunday’s Women’s Super League trip to reigning champions Chelsea (12pm GMT).
