Everton Boss Delivers Team News Update

Everton will be without Allan, Andre Gomes, Jonjoe Kenny and Moise Kean for Saturday's home clash with Brighton & Hove Albion (3pm).

And Richarlison faces a late fitness test ahead of the Goodison Park contest.

Allan was forced off after 69 minutes of Everton's 4-1 Carabao Cup win over West Ham United on Wednesday night with an abductor problem.

Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti is confident the summer signing will be ready to return in the Blues' first game after the upcoming international break - a Merseyside derby showdown at Goodison, which is scheduled for Saturday 17 October.

Richarlison was substituted just after the hour mark against the Hammers after twisting his ankle and Ancelotti says his availability will be assessed ahead of Saturday's match.

Jonjoe Kenny was withdrawn before half-time of that match, also with an ankle problem, and is expected to be sidelined for a minimum of four weeks.

Ancelotti added Gomes will miss the Brighton game with a minor injury and could have been available had the game been played one or two days later.

Striker Kean is unwell and is unable to feature, while centre-back pair Mason Holgate (toe) and Jarrad Branthwaite (ankle) remain out.

The Blues will also be without long-term absentees Jean-Philippe Gbamin (Achilles) and Cenk Tosun (ACL).

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Ancelotti said: “Richarlison is doing better. We are going to have a test tomorrow [Saturday] morning and we will see if he is available to play.

“With Allan, we have the international break – and after this he will be ready, 100 per cent.

“Jonjoe is out for at least four weeks. The twist on his ankle was quite serious.

‘This week Moise has not been training because he isn’t well. He will not be in the squad against Brighton.

“As for Gomes, if we played on Sunday or Monday, he would be ready.

"It is a really little thing but he is not available to play against Brighton. It is not a big injury."
