New Boys Allan And Niels Star In Everton Matchday Programmes

Everton new boys Niels Nkounkou and Allan take it in turns to headline Everton’s Official Matchday programme for forthcoming games against West Ham United and Brighton & Hove Albion.

Exceptional Brazil international midfielder Allan is the subject of an exclusive feature interview in the edition for Brighton’s Premier League visit on Saturday.

Allan recalls the moment “my life flashed before my eyes” and a “difficult childhood” in Rio de Janeiro and charts his development into one of the world’s most accomplished deep-lying midfielders.

Nkounkou has taken the Carabao Cup by storm with dynamic performance on his first two Everton appearances, against Salford City and Fleetwood Town.

The 19-year-old is our centrepiece interview ahead of Everton’s fourth-round meeting with West Ham on Wednesday.

Nkounkou details his upbringing in France and outlines his ambitions with Everton after rebuffing a host of suitors to switch to Goodison Park in the summer.

Manager Carlo Ancelotti and captain Seamus Coleman write exclusively to Evertonians in both issues.

Kevin Richardson, a league title winner with Everton 35 years ago, features in our former player interview for the Brighton fixture.

The former midfielder reveals which legendary Everton figure instilled the foundations for an extraordinarily successful career.

Richardson explains why his thoughts immediately turned to Everton after his Arsenal team dramatically wrenched the league title from Liverpool in 1989.

And he recalls manager Ron Atkinson’s furious reaction after Richardson's Aston Villa were pipped to the championship by Manchester United 27 years ago.

Both matchday programmes supply the lowdown on our opponents and there is news from around Goodison, with Everton Women and the Club’s Under-23 and Under-18 teams enjoying prosperous starts to the new campaign.
