Ancelotti Names Team To Start Everton Cup Bid

Michael Keane is the only survivor from Sunday’s victory at Tottenham Hotspur as manager Carlo Ancelotti makes 10 changes for Everton’s Carabao Cup clash with Salford City.

There is a debut for Niels Nkounkou at left-back and right-back Jonjoe Kenny starts a competitive game for Everton for the first time since March last year.

Joao Virginia in goal, meanwhile, is another poised for his first senior Everton appearance, two years after joining from Arsenal.

England international Keane is partnered in defence by Jarrad Branthwaite, making his fifth appearance for the Club.

Tom Davies plays in midfield, where the Goodison Park Academy graduate is joined by captain Gylfi Sigurdsson and Bernard.

Moise Kean will be the focal point of Everton’s attack, the Italian flanked by wide players Theo Walcott and Anthony Gordon.

New midfield pair Allan and Abdoulaye Doucoure are joined on the bench by forwards Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Jordan Pickford, who played every minute of Everton’s 2019/20 campaign, is also among Ancelotti’s substitutes, along with Seamus Coleman and Lucas Digne, the full-back duo who started the 1-0 weekend Premier League success in London.
