Christiansen Earns England Call-Up

Everton midfielder Izzy Christiansen has been called up to Phil Neville's 30-player England squad for this month's training camp.

The 28-year-old has been rewarded for her impressive start to the season - which included scoring the winner in Sunday's 1-0 home success over Spurs - as Everton notched two victories from their opening two WSL games.

Christiansen will replace Manchester City's Lucy Bronze in the squad who has withdrawn after suffering an injury against Brighton on Sunday.

Christiansen was last capped for England in March 2019 as a member of the Lionesses’ SheBelieves Cup-winning squad in the USA, before undergoing ankle surgery which sadly ruled her out of last summer’s FIFA Women’s World Cup in France.

She returned to the WSL last December, signing an 18-month contract with the Blues following a season with defending European Champions Olympique Lyonnais.

England take on Germany on Tuesday 27 October in Wiesbaden.
