Wednesday's Liverpool Echo says left-back Niels Nkounkou could be in line to make his Everton debut against Salford City tonight.

The Blues face the League Two side in the second round of the Carabao Cup and 19-year-old Nkounkou, signed in the summer after his contract with Marseille expired, has told the paper, "I am ready."

The Echo also claims Jonjoe Kenny will feature against the Ammies, the side owned by former Everton captain Phil Neville and a consortium of his former Manchester United teammates.

"My first objective [when joining Everton] was to just train hard, so I could be ready whenever I was called upon," said Nkounkou. "The other objective was to learn.

"I always felt I would be training with the First Team and if I do get my chance to make my debut, I just want to prove to the coaching staff and the manager that I'm a decent player and a good signing."

Reports in Italy have once again linked Everton with a move for £32million-rated Roma and Turkey forward Cengiz Under.

Corriere Dello Sport believes the Serie A side are willing to let the 23-year-old depart to fund a move for Italy international Stephan El Shaarawy and that the Blues have submitted "a good offer".

Finally, Turkish local newspaper Kayseri Haber suggests ex-Everton striker Oumar Niasse is set to link-up with his former Blues teammate Aaron Lennon at Süper Lig side Kayserispor.
