Italian publication Corriere dello Sport reckons Everton remain keen on Cengiz Under from Roma.

Turkey international forward Under is said to have a “good offer” from Everton, with Roma apparently open to selling the 23-year-old they signed from Istanbul Basaksehir three years ago.

Under has scored 17 goals in 88 Serie A appearances for Roma, who finished fifth in last season’s Italian top-flight.

The Daily Mail features a colour piece on Everton new-boy James Rodriguez, who wowed observers with a tremendous debut performance at Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

James, instrumental in Everton’s 1-0 win, is “Everton's biggest-ever signing, certainly in terms of global presence,” says the article, which continues, “He wants to remind people of his wonderful ability, which led Madrid to pay £60million for him, and the way he has quickly settled into the rhythm of the Everton dressing room has impressed his new colleagues as much as his ability”.

Elsewhere in the Mail, Michael Keane calls James’ fellow recent arrival Allan a “defender’s dream”.

Originally talking to evertontv about the former Napoli midfielder, Keane added: “He is always there on the striker’s toes, winning the ball back.

“He does a lot of running, puts in a lot of tackles.

“It is great to have him there.”

Calciomercato continues to tip Everton for a second raid on Napoli with the Club supposedly wanting a deal for Hirving Lozano.

Mexican Lozano, one of the 2018 World Cup’s standout performers, worked with Carlo Ancelotti during his first season in Naples after joining from PSV Eindhoven last summer.

The winger, 25, was taken to PSV from Mexican team Pachuca in 2017 when Everton Director of Football Marcel Brands was in a similar post at the Dutch club.

Football Insider says Everton will approach a third Serie A club in Torino for defender Gleison Bremer.

The Brazilian centre-back, 23, moved to Italy from Atletico Mineiro in his homeland in summer 2018.

He played 35 games in all competitions at home and abroad last term, scoring five goals.

Former Tottenham forward Garth Crooks, meanwhile, writing for the BBC, chooses Dominic Calvert-Lewin to spearhead his Premier League team of the week.

“Under Carlo Ancelotti, this lad is getting better with every game,” asserts Crooks, whose side also featured James Rodrigeuz.

“It could be a defining season for the young Evertonian.

“He has all the elements to make a top-class striker. If he can stay fit, which invariably means looking after himself, he can be whatever he wants.”
