Richarlison Starts As Everton Confirm Preston Starting XI

Richarlison will have his first pre-season outing when Everton host Preston North End on Saturday.

The Brazilian forward missed Everton's trip to Blackpool a fortnight ago but is poised to renew his attacking partnership with Dominic Calvert-Lewin as the Blues complete their skeleton Premier League warm-up calendar at Goodison Park.

Manager Carlo Ancelotti, who today added Brazil international midfielder Allan to his Everton squad, also hands starts to Mason Holgate, Bernard, Theo Walcott and Gylfi Sigurdsson.

Centre-back Holgate will partner Lewis Gibson, who spent the second half of last season on loan in League One with Fleetwood Town, in the middle of defence for an Everton side wearing blue socks to avoid a colour clash with visitors Preston.

Niels Nkounkou makes his first start at left-back following the French teenager's appearance from the bench against Blackpool and Jonjoe Kenny continues on the right of defence.

Icelander Sigurdsson could partner Anthony Gordon in central midfield, with Walcott and Bernard set for roles on the flanks.

Academy graduate goalkeeper Harry Tyrer, 18, who penned his first professional deal in January and joined the Club aged seven, makes a first senior start in the absence of Jordan Pickford, Jonas Lossl and Joao Virginia, that keeping trio all away on international duty.

Richarlison and Calvert-Lewin, who scored 30 goals between them in all competitions last term and flourished as a frontline duo following Ancelotti's arrival in December, will operate together eight days before Everton go to Tottenham Hotspur to begin their top-flight campaign.

Midfielders Beni Baningime and Dennis Adeniran are among Everton's substitutes, with Ancelotti also able to call on Yannick Bolasie, Kyle John, Ellis Simms and goalkeeper Nico Hansen from the bench.
