Gordon Signs New Five-Year Everton Deal

Anthony Gordon has signed a new five-year contract with Everton until the end of June 2025.

The Academy graduate burst to prominence in 2019/20, ticking off a series of milestones as the 19-year-old’s development accelerated under Carlo Ancelotti.

Blues manager Ancelotti displayed the ultimate show of faith in Gordon when handing the player his full debut in June’s Goodison Park Merseyside derby.

Gordon, the second player this week to commit his long-term future to Everton after England international defender Michael Keane, insists his excitement over being awarded fresh terms is heightened by his optimism over the Club’s potential with Ancelotti in charge.

The player, who joined Everton aged 11 and made his senior debut in a Europa League tie against Apollon Limassol as a 16-year-old in December 2017, figured in 11 top-flight games last term, starting four times.

EVERTON FORWARD GORDON ON EXCITEMENT AMBITION

Blues Academy graduate poised for extended stay.

“I am delighted to sign and it is a big reward for my hard work,” Gordon told evertontv.

“The contract shows the Club’s faith in me and how much confidence they have in me and that is going to come out in my performances on the pitch.

“Everton is looking like it is on the up.

“We are coming together as players, staff and fans.

“We have new things to be excited about, such as the new manager, Marcel [Brands] is a great Director [of Football] and we have the new stadium to look forward to.”

Everton also handed five-year deals to 23-year-old English pair Mason Holgate and Dominic Calvert-Lewin earlier this year.

With Keane signing identical-length terms, Gordon is convinced Everton are assembling a core of players to sustain the Club through a successful period.

“That is another thing we can be excited about, we have really good young players as part of our squad,” added Gordon.

“Hopefully, we can grow and progress together and get that bit of experience where we can go and do something.

“Not just push for silverware but get there and win trophies and achieve what we want to achieve.”
