GCSE Results Week: The NHS

As part of this week’s GCSE results week, we’re shining the spotlight on the opportunities for school leavers as they finish their secondary school education and look for the next path in their education and careers.

A reminder that Everton in the Community is hosting an 'Employability and Personal Social Development' programme this September for 16 to 24-year-olds not in employment, education or training. 'New Futures' will provide participants with information, advice and guidance through one to one support in order to progress into jobs, education or training opportunities in their chosen industry. Email Yolande.Walsh@Evertonfc.com or call 07875 097453 to find out more and how to sign up.

On Monday, the focus was on construction and, today, we’re looking into the National Health Service and the non-clinical jobs that are available.

What Are The Non-Clinical Roles In The NHS?

Did you know that there are hundreds of non-clinical job roles in the NHS?

A non-clinical job is a role in the healthcare sector that does not involve administering medicine and is not directly involved in diagnosis and treatment processes.

Non-clinical positions in the NHS could include receptionists, accountants, IT specialists, caterers, engineers, architects and plumbers.

It may involve managing and updating patient records, or organising surgical schedules and moving patients. You can find non-clinical roles in a hospital, a GP surgery, or in a main reception or office. Your responsibilities as a professional will also change depending on whether you are connected to a specific department, in a healthcare clinic or within a back-office environment. Then there are jobs in hospitality, retail, porters and job roles in the NHS you may not have even heard of.

Why The NHS?
