Evertonian Scoops £1,000 Cash Prize On the Everton People’s Lottery

Lifelong Evertonian Karl Fitzsimmons is celebrating a timely cash injection after scooping £1,000 on Everton in the Community’s People’s Lottery.

Karl, who recently became a father, struck gold on the Everton People’s Lottery earlier this month and was congratulated on his jackpot win by a phone call from a familiar name in Everton circles.

“The Club organised a phone call from Ian Snodin which was a real laugh” declared Karl.

“We reminisced about the memories of the FA Cup final in 1995 and it was really good of him to get in touch and congratulate me on my win.

“I was absolutely over the moon when I found out; we’ve not long had a baby so it’s a welcome prize for us. We’re going to be using the money to buy the baby some nice clothes as well as treating myself and my girlfriend to some clothes, too!”

With a weekly jackpot of £25,000, members of the Everton People’s Lottery are in with the chance of winning life-changing money every single week, and although Karl’s recent win is a welcome boost to his finances, he admits the motives for becoming a member are for a deeper cause.

“I was in the shop one time and I've always known about the work Everton in the Community has done so it gave me a chance to get involved” Karl added.

“It’s a great cause and it's exactly the type of cause I feel strongly about.”

Every penny after payment of prizes and costs from the Everton People’s Lottery goes towards supporting Everton in the Community and its ground-breaking People’s Place campaign to build and develop a purpose-built mental health facility close to Goodison Park which will promote positive mental health and wellbeing as well as supporting anyone in times of need.

You can show your support for The People’s Place today by signing up and playing for just £2 a week. Once you’re registered to play, you will receive a unique six-digit number which will be entered into a weekly draw where six numbers are selected at random. Your unique six-digit number which is chosen for you only needs to match three or more numbers in the correct sequence for you to win one of the cash prizes on offer.

On being an Evertonian, Karl continued: “My mum and dad took me to the match when I was a kid, and that's obviously just stayed with me ever since.

“I'm really proud as an Evertonian for the work Everton do in the Community, it's a great charity and it’s great to see the awards they pick up for their great work.”
