Everton Boss Delivers Update On Richarlison

Carlo Ancelotti has revealed Richarlison is expected to return to training on Saturday and should be available for Monday’s Premier League match at Tottenham Hotspur (8pm).

The Brazilian sustained an ankle knock in the Blues’ 2-1 victory over Leicester City on Wednesday evening and was forced to come off after 57 minutes.

He hit the opening goal of the Goodison Park contest as Ancelotti’s men secured a second consecutive Premier League win.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference via video link at USM Finch Farm on Friday afternoon, Ancelotti explained Richarlison was unable to join in training with his teammates on Friday but is expected to be fit for the game against Jose Mourinho’s Spurs.

Djibril Sidibe is also in contention to feature in the north London clash. The Frenchman has recovered from the foot injury that kept him out of Everton’s first three matches since the Premier League restart.

Theo Walcott is expected to return to training next week but will miss Monday’s game as he continues his rehabilitation from abdominal surgery.

Fabian Delph remains sidelined with a muscle problem.

"Richarlison didn’t train [on Friday] but I think he will be able to train tomorrow and he is not going to have problems to play on Monday," Ancelotti said.

"I think he will be fine.

"He has to train on Saturday and Sunday but I think he is recovering well from the knock and he is not going to have problems.

"We also have Djibril Sidibe back for this game, but Theo Walcott and Fabian Delph are out."

Everton's only other absentee is midfielder Jean-Philippe Gbamin, who will miss the remainder of the 2019/20 campaign with an Achilles injury.

Ancelotti says the Ivory Coast international is making good progress in his rehabilitation

"He is doing well," Ancelotti added. "He doesn’t have any [additional] problems and he is having a proper recovery in this period."
