Seamus Coleman says Everton’s squad are playing for their futures as they look to secure a place in the long-term plans of manager Carlo Ancelotti.

The Blues skipper is quoted in the Daily Mail saying the entire squad should be motivated by trying to impress their “world-class” boss in the remaining eight games of the 2019/20 campaign.

“We have to realise at this Club, we have a world-class manager and as players we are fighting for our futures,” said Coleman in an interview which initially appeared on evertontv.

“He is new to the job and I am sure he will want to be putting his stamp on things.”

The Mail report also suggests midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin could be one player moving on from Goodison Park, with the Frenchman said to be “close” to joining Nice having reportedly held talks with the Ligue 1 side over the weekend.

Elsewhere, the Daily Mirror points to an interview in which Everton forward Richarlison has claimed there was January interest in his signature from both Barcelona and Manchester United.

The 23-year-old admits, however, he was happy to stay at Goodison.

“Of course you feel impacted, Barcelona is one of the best clubs in the world,” he said in the interview with YouTube channel Desimpedidos. “But I think happiness plays its part as well.”

Rumoured Everton target Oussama Idrissi has reportedly told Dutch publication Voetbal Primeur he is open to leaving AZ Alkmaar this summer, saying he is ready to “take the next step” in his career.

The 24-year-old Morocco winger netted 13 times in 25 Eredivisie games before the 2019/20 competition was cancelled, also providing five assists for the league runners-up.

Meanwhile, Sky Italia reporter Gianluca Di Marzio claims Napoli are now “favourites” to sign Lille defender Gabriel Magalhães, despite the Brazilian defender reportedly having undergone a medical with Everton.

However, Di Marzio’s report also suggests the Serie A side are currently unwilling to match Gabriel’s £45,000-a-week wage demands and that Everton could yet “rekindle” a deal for the 22-year-old Lille man.

The Liverpool Echo hints defender Djibril Sidibe is likely to shake off the knock that saw his miss Sunday’s Merseyside derby in time for Wednesday’s trip to Norwich City, with Fabian Delph and Yerry Mina also thought to be closing on returns.

The local read also covers the news that goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg has signed a short-term contract extension which will see him remain with Everton for the remainder of this term before completing a switch to his first club Ajax.
