Goalkeeper Tinja-Riikka Korpela has signed a one-year contract extension with Everton until the end of June 2021.

Finland international Korpela joined Everton from Norwegian outfit Valerenga last summer and impressed throughout her maiden season with the Blues.

A consistently composed, commanding figure as the last line of Everton’s defence, she produced a standout performance in the Blues’ 1-0 Merseyside derby victory at Anfield in November – keeping hosts Liverpool at bay with a string of exceptional saves.

Korpela, who is closing on a century of caps for her country, has won national league titles with German giants Bayern Munich and FC Honka in her Finnish homeland.
