In an interview that appeared in the Everton matchday programme earlier this season, Academy graduate Anthony Gordon answered a mixed bag of Evertonians' questions...
Favourite musician?
Drake. I like a lot of hip-hop and R&B and he is on top at the moment.
Hardest shot?
Richarlison. He loves to shoot at every opportunity, which most strikers do. He has such great finesse about his shooting, but he can also really put his foot through it.
Toughest opponent?
In training, I would say Leighton Baines. People think that, as he has got older, he may have slowed down a bit, but he hasn’t lost anything! He is unbelievable, in every sort of way. He still has the work ethic and his quality is incredible.
First celebrity crush?
Jennifer Aniston because I love Friends!
Best mate in football?
At this club, it would be Dennis Adeniran. I’m also good mates with Tommy Doyle from Manchester City. He is another young player who has made his debut for the first team this season.
Best moment of your career so far?
I’ll go for my first-team debut at Goodison, when I came on against Leicester in the cup. It was something I had dreamed about since I was about five years old.
Any tattoos?
No, and I don’t plan on getting any, either!
Food you love?
Chicken and pasta. As athletes, that is something we need. However, if I was going to treat myself, it would be pizza.
Food you hate?
I’m not a big fan of olives.
Nickname?
Everyone calls me different things! Some call me Ant and a lot of the first team call me Gords.
Funniest person you have met in football?
I’d probably say Djibril Sidibe. He is very high-energy! Also, Fabian Delph. He has the old school English banter that I can understand.
If you could live anywhere, where would it be?
If I had to choose it would probably be Los Angeles, just because of the weather. I know I am quite pale, but I would still rather live somewhere sunny than somewhere cold!
What gets on your nerves?
There is not a lot that gets me angry because I am such a laid-back person. What does wind me up are things on the pitch - if I am not doing what I should be doing - because I set myself such high standards.
What motivates you?
Being the best version of myself I can be. I look back to where I was a year ago to where I am now, and it is miles apart. Looking ahead to this point next year, I want that to be the same. I want to look back and feel that I am miles better than what I am now.
Who knows you best?
My girlfriend. She is like my best mate. She knows everything about me, so I would have to say her.
If aliens invaded earth, who would you choose to save us?
I am going to go with Yerry [Mina]. You just have to look at the size of him, I don’t think that aliens would mess with Yerry. I would stand behind him and let him fight my battles.
