A star of one of Everton in the Community's disability teams got a 16th birthday surprise when she received an unexpected phone call from Blues stopper Kirstie Levell.
After hearing it was Sophie's big day, Levell checked in on the youngster to find out how she was getting on during the current lockdown and to see what birthday plans she had in store.
Everton players, staff and volunteers have been making phone calls to lift the spirits of supporters ever since the UK's nationwide lockdown was announced last month as part of the Club's Blue Family campaign, an initiative that is also providing tailored and focused support, assistance and guidance to some of the most vulnerable, socially isolated and at-risk members of our community during these uncertain times.
Watch the video above to see Sophie receive her video call from Levell and the pair discuss the art of goalkeeping, missing football and staying positive during the current outbreak.
