Davies Talks Films, Federer And Why His Home City Is Special

In this season's matchday programme, we have been asking the players a selection of 'Random' questions to find out a little more about them.

This edition, with midfielder Tom Davies, was set for publication in Everton's matchday programme for last month's postponed Merseyside derby. The Academy graduate reveals his toughest opponent, first celebrity crush and what makes his home city special...

Favourite city?

New York. I went a few weeks ago, but that wasn’t the first time. I love it there.

Can you sing?

Mildly. I’d say I’m mediocre. For my initiation song, I did Blame It On The Boogie by The Jacksons. I was actually voted the best who sang that night.

First celebrity crush?

I think it might have been Rihanna.

Favourite sportsperson?

Roger Federer. He’s just pure class and cool as a cucumber. I like his watches, too.

Best present received?

Last year someone got me a microphone and a speaker. I loved it, I just sang all day!

Favourite TV show?

I enjoy Entourage. It’s a great series. Ari Gold is such a good character!

Favourite musician?

The rapper, Kano. He’s a lyrical genius.

Toughest opponent?

Moussa Dembele, who played at Spurs. He was very quick and powerful. He’s a top player, him.

Favourite film?

I’ll say Uncut Gems. It’s about a diamond merchant in New York. It’s brilliant. Adam Sandler is great in it.

Do you have any tattoos?

No, I don’t and I’m never getting one. They’re not for me.

Favourite thing about the city of Liverpool?

It’s just home. It’s my city, where I’m from... And I like the people. The people are cool here.

What gets on your nerves?

When people have dirty fingernails. It’s gross.

Best banter at Everton?

I’ll go with Dom [Calvert-Lewin]. His humour can be a bit silly sometimes but he’s still funny.
