Thursday's Daily Mail suggests Real Madrid star James Rodriguez is "leaning towards a move to Everton above all other options this summer".

The Daily Mirror also points to the claims - first made by Spanish newspaper Marca - hinting Blues boss Carlo Ancelotti is considering a reunion with his former player.

Ancelotti managed Colombia international forward Rodriguez at the Bernabeu, where the 28-year-old is now thought by Marca to be surplus to requirements.

The same Mirror story also claims Ancelotti is thought to be targeting another of his former charges in Napoli striker Arkadiusz Milik, 26.

German publication Sport Bild believes Mario Gotze will be leaving Borussia Dortmund this summer and the Mail points to their suggestion that Everton, West Ham United and AC Milan could all be interested in the 27-year-old World Cup winner.

The country's tabloid Bild, meanwhile, claims Everton are among a host of clubs looking at RB Leipzig forward Yussuf Poulsen, 25, who has 11 assists from 20 appearances this season.

The Daily Star reports Everton defender Leighton Baines has sent a strong coronavirus message to fellow Premier league stars, saying players have a responsibility to help their fans and those in their communities amid the outbreak.

Finally, the Liverpool Echo looks at how Everton are checking on their young players who are out on loan abroad during the pandemic.

Fraser Hornby is on a season-long loan at K.V. Kortrijk in Belgium and Under-23s player care officer Mike Dickinson has been making calls to the 20-year-old to check on his welfare during his time in lockdown.
