Wednesday’s Daily Mail features a lowdown on Gabriel Magalhaes, the Lille defender supposedly in the eye of a three-way transfer fight between Everton, Chelsea and Arsenal.

The 22-year-old is tipped to follow in the footsteps of Eden Hazard and Nicolas Pepe by swapping Lille for the Premier League this summer, with the Mail claiming Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti is “determined” to swoop for “Champions League quality” targets.

Gazzetta dello Sport in Italy, meanwhile, reckons Everton have lined up Hellas Verona’s 20-year-old defender Marash Kumbulla as an alternative to Brazilian Magalhaes.

Albanian Kumbulla is said by the Italian sports daily to be interesting a flock of illustrious clubs; Fiorentina, Inter Milan and RB Leipzig, among them.

Back to the Mail, which is one of a number of papers reporting on Everton’s training regime during the coronavirus lockdown.

As reported on evertonfc.com, players are adhering to seven-day programmes and maintaining regular contact with fitness and medical staff.

Morgan Schneiderlin’s situation is highlighted by the Mail, with the midfielder rehabilitating from a knee problem and poised to talk with his surgeon via Zoom next Monday.

Bild in Germany speculates on the possibility of Jonjoe Kenny spending a second season on loan with Schalke 04.

Everton Academy graduate Kenny’s “fighting spirit” in 26 appearances for the Bundesliga side this term has won him enormous popularity among Schalke supporters, says the publication, which reckons Kenny would be open to another campaign in Germany.

The Liverpool Echo looks to the future and Everton’s new home at Bramley-Moore Dock, where the paper says, “Everton have plans in place for… club statues to be installed outside the proposed… stadium”.

It is the turn of Everton’s current home of more than 127 years Goodison Park to come under the spotlight in a Sky Sports feature on Premier League stadiums.

Commentator Martin Tyler writes about the night Goodison “rocked” when Everton defeated Bayern Munich 35 years ago. He goes on to advise readers to enjoy the “distinguished” stadium, with its “iconic” Main Stand before the Club completes its move to a new home.
