Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford salutes the “phenomenal” efforts of the NHS in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic in The Independent.

The England No.1, who is back in the North East with his family, revealed how he participated in the collective tribute to the nation's health staff last week.

“I joined everyone in my parents’ street to applaud our doctors and nurses and every other NHS worker on Thursday night,” said Pickford, in a blog that originally featured on evertonfc.com.

“It was a nice touch to recognise what they are doing at this time and demonstrate how we are all thinking about them. We need to take care of ourselves and do what’s best for the nation and for the world.”

Potential transfer incomings at Goodison Park feature in Monday’s edition of the Liverpool Echo.

The local read speculates the Blues are interesting in signing Nice midfielder Wylan Cyprien.

Newcastle United are also rumoured to be tracking the 25-year-old midfielder, who has scored eight goals in 24 appearances for the Ligue 1 outfit this season.

The Echo also suggests Chelsea have joined Everton in the race to prise Gabriel Magalhaes from Lille.

The highly-rated Brazilian defender is reported to be valued at £30million.
