What The Papers Say - 29 March

Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti has urged football to focus only on global health amid the coronavirus outbreak, writes the Mail on Sunday and Liverpool Echo.

Football across the UK is currently suspended due to the pandemic and the Blues boss has admitted he is not even thinking about when it could return.

"Health is our number one priority today, it is all about limiting the spread of the virus," said Ancelotti.

"Everything else is of secondary importance.

"When the season resumes, when it ends… believe me when I tell you this, none of these things are important to me."

Elsewhere, Everton are once again linked with Lille defender Gabriel Magalhaes, with Football Insider claiming the Blues have lodged a £30million bid for the Brazilian.

The Mail, meanwhile, reports Everton are "leading the race" for Magalhaes, with Leicester City, Wolves and AC Milan also said to be keeping tabs on the 22-year-old.

The Liverpool Echo, however, says the Blues will "wait for clarity" over the transfer window and how it will be impacted by the coronavirus outbreak "before pressing ahead" with plans to sign Magalhaes.

Finally, the Echo looks at how Everton would revamp its hospitality offering at a proposed new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock, pointing to plans for a 'Tunnel Club' - a lounge that would provide supporters with the opportunity to see players arriving into the ground, walking back and forth between the changing rooms and the pitch and conducting post-match interviews.
