Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti revealed Theo Walcott has fully recovered from a knee problem and will be available to play against Manchester United on Sunday, while Lucas Digne’s fitness will be assessed ahead of the Goodison Park clash (2pm).

The French left-back missed last weekend’s match at Arsenal with a calf injury and has been training individually at USM Finch Farm.

Walcott was also sidelined for the game at Emirates Stadium but the winger has returned to full training.

Ancelotti added he believes Andre Gomes could be ready to start Sunday's game after making an impressive comeback appearance at Arsenal from the substitutes' bench.

The Portuguese midfielder played the final 31 minutes of the contest, just 112 days after fracturing his ankle in a Premier League game against Tottenham Hotspur at Goodison Park.

"Theo is fit – he doesn’t have a problem," said Ancelotti, who was speaking at his pre-match press conference at USM Finch Farm on Friday afternoon.

"Lucas is training individually. He had a little problem with his calf. We are going to check tomorrow [Saturday].

"I think Andre is ready to start. I think he is closer to starting compared to last week. He trained well, normally, properly.

"He can play but I have to talk to him before the game.

"He did really well [against Arsenal].

"I was surprised by the fact it did not seem he had been out for three months. He played with confidence, making tackles, without any fear.

"I think it was good for him to play. He has shown more confidence this week compared to last week."

Ancelotti was also asked to respond to media speculation linking Everton defender Mason Holgate with a move to Manchester City.

The Italian insisted the in-form centre-back is a key part of his plans and that the Club has no interest in selling him.

"I think it is a rumour," he said.

"Even if it is not a rumour, I can say Mason Holgate is an important part of the future of Everton and there is no possibility he can go in another club. Zero possibility."
