Friday’s edition of the Daily Mirror links Manchester City defender John Stones with a return to Everton - with the paper also claiming the champions are "weighing up" a move for Mason Holgate.

England international Stones left Goodison Park to join City in 2016 and the Mirror suggests Pep Guardiola’s side could be willing to include the 25-year-old as part of any future offer for Holgate.

However, the Mirror also understands Everton are keen to reward 23-year-old Holgate's fine recent form with a new Goodison deal.

The Liverpool Echo speculates Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot is a transfer target for Everton.

The 24-year-old Frenchman joined the Serie A champions from Paris St Germain last summer.

InsideFutbol, meanwhile, carries quotes from Richarlison, who has explained why he believes Carlo Ancelotti can elevate his game to new heights.

"He is going to teach me and guide me to become this world-class player by doing what he wants,” said Richarlison, in an interview originally given to evertonfc.com.

"I talk to him a lot and have told him to trust me. I will be here… let’s see how far we can go."

And the official Premier League website features teenage Everton attacker Anthony Gordon, who has revealed how Richarlison and strike partner Dominic Calvert-Lewin are an inspiration to him.

"I have to [do extra]… to match the likes of Dom and Richarlison," Gordon said. "They are top finishers, two top players in the Premier League and on great runs of form.

"They have both scored a lot of goals this season and I am just trying to match what they do."
