Baines Skippers Everton As Ancelotti Changes Five For Arsenal Encounter

Leighton Baines returns to Everton’s starting line-up as manager Carlo Ancelotti makes five changes for Sunday’s clash with Arsenal – and there is a place on the bench for Andre Gomes, 112 days after the Portuguese suffered a fracture dislocation of his ankle in a game against Tottenham Hotspur.

Mason Holgate and Djibril Sidibe are also restored to Everton’s back four.

There is a recall in midfield for Fabian Delph following suspension and Alex Iwobi features from the beginning against his former club.

Twenty-goal strike pair Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin lead the line for Ancelotti’s side and at the other end of the pitch Jordan Pickford plays his 103rd straight Premier League game in goal.

Baines will captain Everton from left-back. Sidibe plays on the right of defence and the centre-half spots are occupied by Colombian Mina and Holgate, starting in the top-flight for the 50th time.

Delph is partnered in midfield by Morgan Schneiderlin, with Gylfi Sigurdsson and former Gunner Iwobi poised to operate out wide.

Gomes is joined on the bench by Moise Kean, Bernard and Tom Davies.

Ancelotti also includes the trio of Michael Keane, Seamus Coleman and goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg among his substitutes.
