Everton Boss Provides Gomes And Walcott Update

Carlo Ancelotti says Andre Gomes “has trained well and with confidence" and is ready to play in Sunday’s game against Arsenal at Emirates Stadium (4.30pm).

The Portuguese midfielder is in line to make his first Everton appearance since suffering a fractured ankle in the Blues' 1-1 draw against Tottenham Hotspur at Goodison Park on 3 November.

Ancelotti added Theo Walcott’s fitness will be assessed ahead of the trip to north London.

The Italian said the forward – who was taken off with a knee injury during the Everton’s 3-1 win over Crystal Palace last time out – has started to train individually and his readiness to face his former club will be determined on Saturday.

Bernard, meanwhile, has fully recovered from a minor knock and is available for the Arsenal contest.

"Andre is available to play," said Ancelotti, who was speaking at his pre-match press conference at USM Finch Farm.

"He has trained well, properly, with confidence, without problems and in my opinion he is ready to play.

"Before the game we are going to talk together and decide if he can start the game or if he goes on the bench.

"Theo had a problem, he started to train individually today. We will see [how he is tomorrow. I am not sure if he is going to play against Arsenal."
