What The Papers Say - 13 February

Carlo Ancelotti features in Thursday’s Daily Mail, Independent and Liverpool Echo, with the Everton manager outlining his long-term ambitions to “fight for titles and be competitive in Europe” with the Blues.

Ancelotti added: “I signed a four-and-a-half-year deal and I would like to finish my contract, to stay here, to do my best.

“And after that, if there is a possibility to continue, I would like to stay more.

“The base of the squad is very good. We have some young players that are growing. Year-by-year, I think we are going to improve.”

Staying with the Echo, and the local read speculates Everton could be interested in signing Real Sociedad defender Diego Llorente.

The 26-year-old Spain international primarily operates as a central defender but can also play in midfield.

The BBC and Goal.com, meanwhile, report former Toffees centre-back Joseph Yobo has been appointed as Nigerian national team's new assistant manager.

Yobo, who made 259 appearances for Everton and captained his country during a 16-year professional career, will work alongside boss Gernot Rohr.

Finally, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Tom Davies have used the winter break to head to the USA and the Daily Mirror reports the pair “have taken New York Fashion Week by storm” after being pictured in the Big Apple.
