Climb Snowdon By Night For EitC

Everton in the Community is giving supporters the chance to raise vital funds for The People’s Place by climbing the highest mountain in Wales.

Are you willing to challenge yourself with a team of like-minded people who all share the same love for Everton Football Club and Everton in the Community?

You will climb to the summit of Snowdon to watch the sunrise, then fly our EitC flag with pride alongside fellow Evertonians. You don’t need to be a fitness fanatic for this challenge - you just need to have determination and a place in your heart for the Blues!

Join fellow walkers in raising money for the Club’s official charity as you train for the challenge of climbing the 3,560ft mountain on Saturday 28 March.

Hikers will take the Llanberis Path, which is one of the most popular routes to the summit of Snowdon.

All funds raised from the event will go towards The People’s Place, Everton in the Community’s fundraising campaign to build and develop a purpose-built mental health facility to promote positive mental health and wellbeing and support anyone in times of need.

All participants will be provided with an Everton in the Community challenge t-shirt, water throughout the challenge, a goody bag and a celebratory breakfast upon completion. Travel to and from Llanberis from Goodison Park is available if required. Qualified mountain leaders and trained first aid staff will all be on hand to help you reach the summit of Snowdon safely.

Last year saw 35 supporters raise more than £7,000 for The People’s Place as they scaled Snowdon in the company of former Everton midfielder Gareth Farrelly.

“Last year was an incredible experience undertaking the night climb of Mount Snowdon," said Farrelly. "It is a privilege to be involved in these challenging events - and Mount Snowdon is certainly a formidable challenge - fundraising for The People’s Place.

"There are some incredible people doing some fabulous work at Everton in the Community and it is incredibly rewarding to be a part of it, in some small way.

"This is what Everton is all about and I look forward to this year’s event.”

With a fundraising target of £1million, The People’s Place will become a delivery site for Everton in the Community’s existing mental health programmes and enable signposting to other services, such as suicide awareness and prevention.

There is a registration fee of £20 for the Snowdon climb and sponsorship funds raised will need to be collected in full four weeks after the event.
