New Chair Of Everton Fans’ Forum Elected

Jazz Bal has been elected as the Everton Fans’ Forum Chair for the next 12 months, while Lisa Vaughan and Nick Mernock have been elected as Vice Chairs.

The role of Chair and Vice Chair is voted for by Forum members on an annual basis each January. Officers can hold their post for a maximum of three years.

Jazz joined the Everton Fans’ Forum in February 2019. He is currently serving in the British Army as a Warrant Officer Class-1 in the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, having seen routine and operational service across the UK and overseas for more than 23 years.

Last year Jazz initiated an Armed Forces Day event, aimed at bringing serving Evertonians closer to their Club. The event was attended by members of all three Services and veterans enjoyed a guided tour of the Club’s Liver Building HQ, a presentation about the ‘Liverpool Pals’ and an opportunity to meet Everton Ambassador Graham Stuart.

This was followed by the setting up of the Tri-Service Toffees, the Club’s first affiliated military Supporters’ Club which supported in the planning and activating of the 2019 Remembrance Day fixture at Goodison Park.

Jazz has also set up a project group with Forum members and Club catering partner Sodexo to help ensure service on matchdays continues to suit the needs of Evertonians.

Jazz said: “I am extremely proud to have been elected as Chair of the Everton Fans’ Forum; hopefully I can build on the great work done by my predecessors Ian Ball and Gary Evans. I’m also looking forward to welcoming our newest members - four new additions from a pool of strong candidates.

“The more new ideas and perspectives we can bring together in the Forum, the better. It is an exciting time to be an Evertonian and I will be aiming to maintain and develop the close liaison between our fanbase and our Club.”
