Academy Players Take Part In LGBT Awareness Session

Everton's Under-16s and Under-18s players took part in LGBT awareness personal development sessions recently.

As part of Stonewall's ‘Rainbow Laces’ campaign, the young Blues joined in an educational workshop focussing on homophobic, biphobic and transphobic language, sexuality in professional sport, creating an inclusive environment and supporting peers.

Everton's was the first Academy to deliver this session, which was funded by the Premier League.

Meanwhile, the Club's Under-10s have been visited by the Anthony Walker Foundation as part of their ongoing personal development programme.

The activity, at USM Finch Farm, saw the players identify different forms of discrimination, including discrimination based on race, faith, nationality, disability and gender.

In December 2018, Everton launched All Together Now, its campaign to celebrate diversity and increase awareness of everything done by the Club and Everton in the Community to promote equality.
