Junior Fundraiser Rewarded At His School

Everton Women players and members of the Club's Under-23s squad have made a special visit to a young fan's school after he raised more than £1,500 for Everton in the Community.

Six-year-old Jackson, who attends Great Meols Primary School, raised a grand total of £1,515.37 by taking part in the inaugural If You Know Your History 5K Run in October 2019.

Three months on from his fantastic fundraising, Everton Women stars Kirstie Levell, Esme Morgan and Dan Turner joined Under-23s duo Joe Anderson and Einar Iversen in celebrating Jackson’s achievements by taking part in a one-off PE session with the youngster and his classmates, hosted by staff from the Club's official charity.

The players then presented Jackson with an EitC mascot place for Everton’s first-team home game against Crystal Palace this Saturday, and tickets for the rest of his class to attend Sunday's women’s Merseyside derby, also at Goodison Park.

Both games have been dedicated to celebrating Everton in the Community’s 32nd birthday.

Everton in the Community is Everton Football Club’s official award-winning charity and depends upon a number of funding streams, one of which is through general fundraising from its supporters, with the charity’s acclaimed programmes needed now more than ever.

Carena Duffy, Fundraising Manager at EitC, said: “Jackson should be very proud of his fundraising and we are very grateful to him and to everybody who donated to his cause.

“We encourage supporters of all ages to raise money for Everton in the Community and we truly believe giving back and supporting charitable causes is both rewarding for the charity and the individual.”
