Kean Reveals Career Target And Salutes Everton 'Family'

Moise Kean says Everton already feels “like family” as he saluted the Club’s “fantastic” fans and revealed his ambition to become one of the Premier League’s top strikers.

Italian international Kean hit his first Everton goal in the Blues’ 2-2 draw with Newcastle United last time out.

His first-half strike was the standout moment of a dynamic centre-forward display, which saw the 19-year-old showcase his skill, intelligent link-up play and powerful running.

Kean’s impressive all-round performance was saluted with a rousing Goodison Park ovation when he was substituted 19 minutes from time.

The former Juventus player explained how his Toffees teammates and the sustained backing of Evertonians has helped him swiftly adapt to life on Merseyside.

“I have become friends with all of the players,” he said. “It’s a great family.

“Everton supporters are really fantastic, they’re great. They’ve been really supportive of me and the best way to repay them is to play well and hopefully score goals.

“Scoring against Newcastle was a great feeling.

“It was really emotional. I can’t describe it, really. I was so, so happy. It gave me the boost and the motivation to keep doing well with this team.

“It was great to unlock the potential in me and there’s more to come.

“It was my dream to come to England, to come to the Premier League. It’s the best league in the world so I want to get to the highest level and try to be at the same level as the best strikers that have played in this league. That is my goal.”

Everton take on Watford on Saturday (3pm) aiming to secure a victory that could propel the Blues into the top half of the Premier League.

Just four points separate Carlo Ancelotti’s team from fifth-placed Manchester United in a congested league table.

Kean revealed compatriot Ancelotti is a manager he has admired for some time and discussed the positive impact the former Real Madrid boss has had during his time at Everton.

The Blues have won three and drawn two of their six Premier League matches since Ancelotti’s appointment.

“I never had any direct relationship with Carlo before he came here, but I heard from many of my friends who are players that he is a great manager,” said Kean.

“I have always followed him, also when he was coaching at the likes of Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, PSG and Napoli. I am very pleased he is here.

“As a team, we feel optimistic. The attitude of the manager has transferred a lot of optimism and confidence into us.

“We need to transfer all of that onto the pitch to try to get the best results and win games.

“I show the manager every day that I want to work as hard as I can. I’m ready. I’m always ready to give my best. That’s my attitude.”
