Everton Boss Provides Injury Update On Three Players

Carlo Ancelotti has revealed Richarlison will miss Saturday's clash at West Ham United (3pm) after sustaining a minor knee injury.

The manager said he is hopeful the Brazilian will be fit for Tuesday's home match against Newcastle United.

Gylfi Sigurdsson has suffered a groin problem and will also miss the West Ham game but Yerry Mina is available for the contest at London Stadium after recovering from a knock.

Ancelotti added Jean-Philippe Gbamin has started training with the team as he steps up his rehabilitation from thigh surgery.

"We will be without Richarlison for this game," said Ancelotti, who was speaking at his pre-match press conference at USM Finch Farm.

"He had a little problem yesterday on his knee [Thursday] in training. He had a little twist but nothing special – a minor problem.

ANCELOTTI'S INJURY UPDATE

Boss on Mina, Richarlison, Sigurdsson, Iwobi, Gomes and Gbamin.

"I hope he will be available on Tuesday against Newcastle.

"We will be without Gylfi Sigurdsson [for West Ham]. He has a minor groin issue.

"We are also recovering Alex Iwobi and I think he can play the next game [against Newcastle]."

Ivory Coast international Gbamin has not featured for Everton since August having suffered a quadriceps injury, but Ancelotti explained the 24-year-old has made a significant step in his recovery.

"He started today [Friday] the first part of training with the team," he said.

"We have to take care of him. The fact is the injury he suffered was big.

"He is not ready yet but the fact he started training today is important for him. We have to wait a little bit."

Andre Gomes returned to USM Finch Farm this week after a spell recuperating in Portugal having undergone ankle surgery.

"Andre Gomes is doing his individual training with the physio," Ancelotti added.

"He feels good. It is important to have him here and I hope as soon as possible he can play for us."
